About
I am an Integrative Counsellor, Psychotherapist and Clinical Supervisor. I am an accredited and registered member of the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP). Having started out in a different career, I retrained after a ‘lightbulb’ moment in which I realised my vocation was to help and support those who were struggling with wellbeing and mental health issues, and also to help individuals find inner happiness and contentment.
I founded The Listening Helper Counselling Service http://www.thelisteninghelper.co.uk in 2011, initially working part time while my daughter was young and then creating a wider client base as family life allowed. I work with adults and young people to help, support and manage mental health, increase self-belief and happiness, as well as helping organisations and corporate brands boost staff wellbeing, reduce stress in the workplace and lower sickness absence rates.
I combine a variety of approaches, including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), person-centred and psychodynamic, to name a few, and integrate them into a single approach. I am also a media spokeswoman, contributing to BBC Radio and a range of leading health and wellbeing magazines and influential blogs.
